Maison Maëstra

Bespoke watch boxes, where every timepiece makes its first entrance.

Before the dial, there is the moment the lid lifts and your client discovers the timepiece for the first time. Every bespoke watch box we create for your Maison is shaped around that first glance, from lacquer to leather, from the cushion to the very last hinge.

Watchmaking · Watch boxes Maison Maëstra

Single-watch presentation cases, collectors’ boxes, lacquered wood watch boxes, leather-covered boxes: each one is created around the watch it holds and the Maison that presents it. The structure is rigid, to protect; the interior is chosen to reveal, with a crescent cushion or removable cushions, fitted recesses and suede-like lining in your colours. Push-button clasp, hinges and marking all follow your house style. From one watch to eight, the presentation does justice to the timepiece.

Each of our creations embodies care for detail and complete mastery of our craft. It is this constant rigour that turns a simple creation into an exceptional promise, kept.

Collect

For a collector, bringing a collection together matters as much as each timepiece in it. A watchmaking Maison can offer that place: a luxury watch box conceived for an anniversary edition or the models of a single lineage, opened like an archive. Nothing is fixed in advance: the leather and its grain, a shade that belongs to the Maison, a hot-stamped monogram, places kept free for timepieces still to come.

Open

On a boutique counter, the presentation case works in silence: it sets the scene for the watch before a word is spoken. Lacquer lends itself to that role. It can echo the shade of a dial or a façade, turn glossy or satin, or give way to wood left natural. Inside, compartments and cushions follow the number of watches and the story the Maison tells.

Choose

Choosing the watch of the day becomes a small ritual, and the box can play its part in it. Holding from one to eight watches, a bespoke watch box is composed around it: removable cushions lifted out with one hand, a crescent cushion for a single watch, a rigid structure, a push-button clasp. A Maison may add room for a spare strap, or for the watch its client has yet to choose.

A bespoke watch box is never a mere container. It sets the stage for the first look, protects the timepiece and carries the Maison’s story into its client’s hands. For over twenty years, we have been designing boxes for watchmaking with one conviction: start from the person who will open the box, not from the object. Who will receive it, at what moment, and what should they feel? Then come the watch, its size, its strap, and finally the material: lacquer, leather, a rigid or soft structure. The same rigour shapes our jewellery boxes, and our travel cases take the watch beyond the boutique. Every project follows the approach behind our bespoke work, from first sketch to prototype.

The rigour behind a watch box

A bespoke watch box is judged to the millimetre. For Maisons used to working in microns, there is no room for error: measurements taken from the timepiece, materials put to the test, closure checked, finishes inspected at every stage. The prototype confirms the opening gesture, how the cushion holds and how the watch sits under the light. None of this needs to be claimed: it shows, in a lid that closes cleanly and in a box that keeps its shape for years.

Craftsmanship and rigour

A box of this standard brings together several disciplines: woodwork and lacquering for wooden structures, gainerie for leather-covered boxes, upholstery for cushions and interiors, hot-stamping for the monogram. Each takes the time it needs: adjusting, stretching, checking, starting again where necessary. We orchestrate them with artisans selected for each project, from the choice of woods and leathers to the final inspection, and every stage is agreed with you. For a watchmaking Maison, this means a single point of contact, one standard throughout, and every watch presentation case true to its signature, from a one-off to a full series.

A sustainable vision of the watch box

A luxury watch box is never thrown away: it is kept, often for as long as the watch itself. We design solid structures and carefully choose fine materials and finishes that age gracefully. Each order is sized with care, limiting our impact without taking anything from the presence of the box. Designed to stay with the watch long after it is handed over, it keeps the memory of that first glance alive for your client.

Every project deserves undivided attention. Let’s talk it through, and orchestrate the unforgettable together.
