Privacy policy of Maison Maëstra
Discretion is part of our craft.
Here is what we do with your data.
Your personal data
-
Data controller
The controller of the personal data collected on this website is Maison Maëstra SA, a public limited company (société anonyme) under Swiss law.

Our principles
We process your data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We only collect the data needed for the specific purposes described below. We do not sell or rent it, and we do not use it for any automated decision-making or profiling.

Contact form
When you write to us from the Contact page, we receive your email address and, if you provide them, your first and last name, your company and your message. We use them solely to reply to you and to follow up on your project.
Your request reaches us by email and is also stored on the website, in a database hosted by Infomaniak in Switzerland. It can be viewed by the Maison Maëstra team; La Racine / Hermits has access to it for the technical maintenance of the website. We do not store your IP address with the request.
Attached to the request are the page from which you opened the Contact page and, if you accepted the “Statistics” category in the consent banner, your journey on the website (see “Browsing the website”). An anti-robot check, Cloudflare Turnstile, protects the form (see the same chapter).
Under the GDPR, this processing is based on the pre-contractual steps you request and on our legitimate interest in answering the enquiries we receive and in protecting the form from abuse.
A request stored on the website is deleted automatically after three years. We keep our email correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request, and no longer than three years after our last contact. If a collaboration follows, business records are kept for the period required by Swiss law (ten years).
-
Newsletter
When you subscribe to our newsletter, you entrust us with your email address, recorded together with the language of the page where you subscribed so that we can write to you in your language. This processing is based on your consent.
Our subscriber list is managed by Mailchimp, a service of Intuit Inc. (United States). Mailchimp may measure whether our emails are opened and which of their links are clicked.
The subscription form is protected by the Cloudflare Turnstile anti-robot check (see “Browsing the website”).
You can unsubscribe at any time, using the link in every email or by writing to us. Your address is then removed from our mailing list.

Browsing the website
The server hosting this website, at Infomaniak in Switzerland, records technical data on each visit: IP address, date and time, page viewed, browser and operating system. These logs are used for the security and proper functioning of the website, on the basis of our legitimate interest; they are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
The fonts, photographs and videos on this website are served from our own hosting: your visit does not call on any third-party service, whether an online font library, a video platform or a social network. The only exception is the anti-robot check described below.
Journey on the website. If you accept the “Statistics” category in the consent banner, the website notes in your browser, for the current visit: the domain name of the site you came from, the campaign parameters of the address (utm), the first page viewed and the pages viewed with the time. This note stays in your browser tab and is sent nowhere unless you write to us; it disappears when you close the tab, or as soon as you withdraw your consent.
If you write to us from the Contact page, this journey is attached to your request, kept with it (three years) and helps us understand how you found us (search engine, AI assistant, social network, newsletter, direct access…). Without your consent, no journey is noted: only the page from which you opened the Contact page is attached to the request. You can withdraw your consent at any time by changing your choice in the consent banner.
Anti-robot check. The contact and newsletter forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a service of Cloudflare, Inc. (United States). Its script is only loaded when you start filling in a form, not when you simply visit. Cloudflare then receives technical signals from your browser, including your IP address, to tell a person from a robot; when you submit, our server sends it the resulting token (and your IP address) to verify it. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in protecting our forms.

Cookies
This website sets no advertising or social media cookies.
The consent banner (Complianz) remembers your choice in cookies whose name starts with “cmplz_”, kept for 12 months. They are used only to remember that choice: they are necessary and do not require your consent.
If you accept the “Statistics” category, the website also uses your browser’s session storage (entry “mm_journey”, which holds your journey described above). It is not a cookie: it is erased when you close the tab or withdraw your consent, and it is subject to your consent.
Should we add an audience measurement tool, it will only be activated with your consent, collected through a banner where refusing is as easy as accepting. This policy will be updated accordingly.
-

Transfers abroad
The website and its data are hosted in Switzerland, a country whose level of protection the European Union recognises as adequate.
Only newsletter data (to Mailchimp) and the technical signals of the anti-robot check (to Cloudflare) are transferred to the United States. Intuit Inc. and Cloudflare, Inc. are certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its Swiss extension, which the European Commission and the Swiss Federal Council recognise as ensuring an adequate level of protection.
-
